Watch how Lex Redactus works
A short narrated walkthrough of the full workflow — detect PII in a legal memo, redact it into reversible tokens, use any AI (Gemini, Claude, ChatGPT, Grok) safely, and decode the reply back to the real names — all offline. The clip uses a fictional document; no real client data.
Narrated screen recording of the actual app. Captions included.
The workflow, step by step
- 1
Everything runs locally
Lex Redactus works entirely on your machine — no document content ever leaves your computer.
- 2
Create a matter
Each case gets its own matter, keeping documents, the entity map, and audit history isolated.
- 3
Add a document
Upload a PDF, DOCX, or scanned image — or paste text directly.
- 4
Detect PII locally
One click runs local detection over names, organizations, SSNs, phone numbers, addresses, and case numbers.
- 5
Review the findings
Accept, reject, or add detections by category. Attorney judgment stays in the loop.
- 6
Redact into tokens
Each real value becomes a reversible token like [[PERSON:01]] — recorded in the entity map.
- 7
Use any AI safely
Finalize, then paste the tokenized text into Gemini, Claude, ChatGPT, or Grok. The real names never leave your machine.
- 8
Decode the AI's reply
Paste the AI's response — still tokenized — into the decoder, and the tokens turn back into the real names, locally.
PDF Tools
Beyond redaction, Lex Redactus has built-in PDF tools: split a filing into separate exhibits, merge affidavits and exhibits into one paginated packet, and stamp black redaction boxes onto a page — all offline, never uploaded.
